The Overlook Restaurant
The Overlook Restaurant was a wonderful place for members of El Conquistador Country Club for many years. Before HSL Properties purchased the Hilton and its facilities, the Oro Valley Town Council had already voted to buy the Golf Courses, Tennis Courts and Country Club which included the restaurant from HSL Properties. Sounds like a deal, huh?

Some of you may have heard the question, "How do you make a million dollars in the restaurant business?" Answer: "Start out with three million and know when to quit!"

That's what Oro Valley has done with its venture into places where government should stay out of in the first place.

At the candidates debate in Sun City on August 4th, Hiremath finally acknowledged to the audience that Oro Valley shouldn't be in the restaurant business. Why did it take three years of losses to come to that conclusion? A lot of people could have told him that before he spent so much of the taxpayers' money and saddled us with additional taxes. The incumbents claim "leadership." You decide.
